ONE-HOUR TASTER LLAMA TREK
Kowhai Riverbank & Native Woodland

Enjoy a one-hour riverbank trek with your own llama & experienced tour guide.

This trek is ideal if you’re short of time = about 1.5hrs (total time).

We met at the Kaikoura Farm Park (map on location page), then drive 2km to the Kowhai River Valley. Your tour guide will give you an introduction to llamas and trekking; you’ll be given your own llama, and you’re off…

Your trek includes walking in the shadow of the Mt Fyffe mountain, through dense native woodland, and along the Kowhai riverbank. If water conditions are suitable, we might go into the riverbed itself. The (preserved) forest along the Kowhai river banks are one of the last remaining areas of native trees left in the Kaikoura flats rural zone.

Your experienced Trekking Guide will share some: Local history, earthquake stories, plus Llama skills and experiences.
